Every year, for three weeks in December we have a lot of fun taking our Christmas float around the streets of Walton.
The sight of Father Christmas and his friends, including elves, the Grinch and other colourful children’s characters never fails to put a smile on people’s faces.
This event is amazing and really does promote the good old fashioned sense of community spirit to all ages.
This is a timetabled event to enable everyone to know what day and time we will be travelling up their road.
We also enjoy a visit to local special needs schools to bring some cheer to the children and young adults.
Other events we held last Christmas included ‘Breakfast with Santa’ – which, due to being oversubscribed also led to a ‘Lunch with Santa’. These involved arts and crafts, games and lots of fun as well sharing a meal with Father Christmas.
We were especially delighted to bring our special Christmas event funded by the Government’s Holidays Activities and Food (HAF) scheme. This saw our base at St Nathanael’s Church and gardens transformed in a Winter Wonderland and included a visit by reindeer Blitzen and Prancer, Santa’s Grotto and lots of food and fun.
