Afternoon tea continues to be a hit
Our afternoon teas are continuing to be a hit with the local community. The church was full with people attending for the first event of the year.
Following the success of the afternoon teas last year, we are pleased to have secured funding to host the popular social event every Wednesday in the month of February.
Visitors enjoy a selection of sandwiches and cakes, and have the chance to play a game of bingo. Most importantly, however, it is an opportunity to get to know others from the community.
Posting on our Facebook page after the first event held on Wednesday February 2, Pat Walker thanked project coordinator Gayle and said she’d had a “lovely time, as did Joanne Carroll who said she would “definitely be back.”
Meanwhile, the ministry team behind St Nathanael’s Church, Fazakerley Road, where the Opening Doors Project is based and where the afternoon tea took place, said: “Wow lovely to see the building full. Glad you had an amazing afternoon. “
The next afternoon tea will be held on Wednesday February 9. All are welcome.
