Visit to Ormskirk puts a smile on young faces
DECEMBER once again saw the Opening Doors Project taking Christmas to the community by visiting local streets with a Christmas float. Despite occassional downpours, Father Christmas and his helpers (including the Grinch!) sought to spread some seasonal cheer with music and dance.
The itinerary for Father Christmas and his colourful entourage included visits to the Walton and Kirkdale Junior Football League at the Jeffery Humble centre and Bank View, Redbridge High, Activate and Turning Point Academy, schools catering for children and young adults with special education needs.
Rena Wright, teacher at Turning Point Academy, based in Ormskirk, said: “We loved your visit so much! Thank you Santa and crew…you’ve done an amazing job of putting smiles on so many young faces.”
