AN eight-year-old girl has expressed her gratitude to the Opening Doors Project for providing play schemes for children during the school holidays.

Courtney Okeke wrote to Gayle, the charity’s project co-ordinator, to let her know the staff and volunteers “mean the world” to her.

Activities the youngster has enjoyed at the play schemes include crafts, games, meeting exotic pets, singing, dancing and day trips.

At the last event  she helped make zombies for a Halloween Zombie Walk.

In her best handwriting and illustrating her heartfelt letter with colourful love-heart, star and rainbow motifs, she said: “Thank you so much for all the play schemes. You guys mean all the world to me and my family.

“We thank you guys so much. We want you to know you have all my blessing.”
