Day trip helps forge community spirit
THE Opening Doors Project has thanked the National Lottery for funding a much enjoyed trip for local residents to Bury Market.
The charity’s founder Gayle Connor-McCreith, said: “A very big thank you to the National Lottery Local Connections Fund for funding our Let’s Get Together project which included a day trip to Bury Market.
“It was great to bring the community together, we played bingo, sang songs and had a great day.”
After the day out participants took to social media to show their appreciation.
Among them was Aileen Dunn who said: “Thanks to everyone involved. We had a lovely day, it was really nice to get out … Have to say the young people on the coach were lots of fun as well, really appreciate the effort to enable such a good day.”
While Joan Mckenzie said: “Brilliant day we all had at Bury Market organised by the Opening Doors Project and funded by the National Lottery. The past few years this charity has done so much for our community.
“Gayle, Dave, Les and David go above and beyond organising these trips and lots of different activities for all ages. You are all amazing and our community would be lost without you.
“Well done to you all.”
