Grateful children say it with pictures to salute dedicated hospital staff

ONCE again children have been using their creative talents to brighten up the day of NHS staff.

Following on the success of a similar project last year, children in the community were given canvases on which to draw and paint pictures to say thanks to Aintree Hospital staff for their work during the pandemic.
Organised by the Opening Doors Project, the canvasses were delivered to the hospital this week.
After canvasses were delivered last year, during the first lockdown, Opening Doors’ founder Gayle received a message from a nurse who’d been given a much needed boost by seeing the pictures on the wall in the Covid ward staff room.

“The last few weeks have been really hard,” the nurse said, “The pictures brought a smile to my face today, thank you.”

She added: “They brightened my day so much!!!”
